REFLECTING ON A YEAR OF DIGITAL GROWTH
The past year marked a period of major growth for the Northern Islander, including the launch of our online platform. In early 2025, we expanded beyond our monthly print newspaper and began offering a digital option as well. With this new presence, we’ve been able to keep local news at our readers’ fingertips, no matter where they are. Now, readers can choose to enjoy the Northern Islander in print, online, or both.
Today, subscribers have access to an expanded, searchable archive of monthly editions dating back to 2023. An online subscription provides unlimited access to stories, making it easy to revisit past editions or dive into new content. Our digital readers can now enjoy what they want, when they want.
With the new website, our team is also able to share news with just the click of a button. We hope you’ve been enjoying our weekly online content alongside our monthly editions.
This is officially the last Sunday article before we head into 2026. As we turn the page to a new year, we want to express how incredibly grateful we are for your readership and support. We’re nearing our one-year anniversary of online news, and we couldn’t be prouder.
That said, we know there is always room to grow, and we would love to hear from you. Your encouragement, suggestions, and our continued drive for innovation all help make our work better.
If you have anything you would like to share with us, please email editor@beaverislandhistory.org.
Happy New Year! See you in 2026!
