School has yet to be back in session for a full month, and the students are already raving about Chef Ian’s lunches and skills. Some of the lunch menu options from September included: chicken enchiladas with roast corn and black bean rice, honey soy chicken and fried rice, turkey gyros with whole grain pita bread, pizza every Friday, and much more.
BICS lunches must follow specific guidelines set by the Department of Agriculture to qualify for the free lunch program. This means every lunch meal is ensured to have at least three out of the five: fruit, vegetables, grains, proteins, and a container of milk. Chef Ian makes what he can from scratch, but what he can’t, he has the culinary skills and techniques to make even frozen pizza taste like it came from Detroit itself.
Above, in the image bar, is the menu for October, so get those orders in as soon as possible!
