HELP WELCOME OUR ARRANMORE BRETHREN ISLANDERS ON THURSDAY

by George Broder

The annual Irish Féile is this week, and several dozen are coming from Arranmore to celebrate with us, including the Pipe Band beloved by all.

Boaters—join together to go out and welcome and escort the Emerald Isle into the harbor Thursday morning! The ferry arrives at about 12:45. The municipal marina South Dock, next to the ferry dock, will let you tie up at no charge and witness the Pipe Band’s grand entrance from the ship.

Everyone else, come to the ferry dock to greet our guests who’ve traveled so far to be here. Seeing the Pipe Band march upon arrival is truly an “only on BI” experience!

Our two island communities were officially “twinned” 26 years ago.
